Rathgormack Senior footballers defeated St. Saviours to retain their senior status for 2012 in the relegation play-off played at Kilmacthomas. A brilliant penalty save by goal-keeper Brendan Crotty in the first half followed a few minutes later by a Rathgormack goal by Ronan Cahill ensured Rathgormack led at half time. This lead was extended in the second half when Paul Drohan finished to the net. However St. Saviours scored five unanswered points to leave just three points between the sides in the last few minutes. However Rathgormack defended well to record a 2-07 to 0-10 win.
