Club Crest

For almost 125 years the club had no official crest of its own, instead relying on the official Cumann Luthcleas Gael crest down through the years on all jeseys, playing gear & club correspondence etc.. However this was about to change and the process of designing a new crest began by engaging the pupils of Rathgormack National School in the summer of 2009 when a crest design competition took place. A judging panel selected winners from the various classes & from these designs a number of ideas were garnered which would be used to make up the final design. All winners were presented with sports vouchers. The winners of each class were as follows,

1st Place

2nd Place

3rd Place

Junior & Senior Infants

Barry Power

Fiona Hearne

Saoirse Hennebry

First & Second Classes

Aoife Walsh

Caoimhe Hennebry

Lucy Skehan

Third & Fourth Classes

Gerard Nugent

Roisin Hallahan

Emma Curry

Fifth & Sixth Classes

Alice Bolger

Siobhan Hahessy

Sarah Flynn

Following the above process, the club were indebted to local Feddans man, Shane Houlihan who provided his expertise & knowledge to put forward a dozen designs to the committee before the final design was slected, shown below.

The crest depicts Cormac`s fort (Rath O gCormaic), with the Comeragh Mountains in the background. The club colours of Red & Green are predominant throughout the design.
