Senior Football

Last Wednesday night, 13th June, we travelled to Ardmore to take them on in the third round of the league. With both teams fielding under strength teams, the fare on show was pretty poor, with Rathgormack leading 0-4 to 0-3 at half time. A couple of scores in the early part of the second half, including a converted penalty, put the home side in the driving seat. Rathgormack battled back well in the last 15 minutes but were unable to convert enough chances to regain the lead, & lost out by a single point. Final score, Rathgormack 0-9, Ardmore 1-7. We were due to meet the same opposition in our next championship match on the 29th June, but this has now been postponed as Waterford footballers will be in qualifier action on that weekend, & with Waterford hurlers now through to the Munster Final, it is unlikely that this match will be played till late July at the earliest. A new fixture is due to be issued after the county board meeting on Monday 18th June.

We play our next league match away to Ballinacourty next Monday 25th June, with an 8PM throw in.

Junior Football

Our juniors play Gaultier in the championship in Dunmore East next Saturday 23rd June, with a 7:30 PM throw-in.

Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camp

Our Summer Football Cul Camp goes ahead this year from the 13th –17th August.

This year the camps are sponsored nationwide by Kellogg’s & as part of their promotion, there is €5 off per child when you book online, using the special promotional code from Kellogg’s Cornflakes & Rice Krispies boxes. As usual all children taking part receive a Cul Camp kit & gear bag, but for anyone who already has a kit from the earlier hurling camp in Clonea, they can attend for a reduce price. So apply online or fill out an application form, which will be distributed through the schools before the end of the term. Any queries to club coordinator, Tony Bolger, 087-2271520.
