Senior Football

Our league match away to Brickey Rangers last Sunday evening failed to materialise as the opposition informed us that they could not fulfil the fixture on Saturday night, so it is presumed that we received a walkover. We start our 5-match championship campaign next Saturday, 21st April, against Ballinacourty with a 7:30 PM throw in at Fraher Field. Please come along & support the lads.

Junior Football

Our juniors played their second match in the eastern junior/intermediate league last Saturday away to Bunmahon & suffered a heavy defeat after a very poor performance against a solid & more physical home side. Final score, Rathgormack 0-4 Bunmahon 3-8. Team: Eamonn Cahill, Johnny Nugent, Johnny Kavanagh, John Crotty, Peter Foran, Anthony Power, Muiris Quinlan, Johnny Quinlan, Steven Power, Liam Walsh (B), Paddy Crotty, Daniel Drohan, Kenny Hassett, Seanie Lacey, Steven Kirwan, Subs used: Patrick Pender, Brian Fogarty, Franny Halpin, Sean Cullen, Conor Hennebry. We lost Anthony Power with a serious shoulder injury early in the match, & hopefully it is not as serious as it looked at the time. We play our first championship match next Friday 20th April at home to Gaultier, with a 7 PM throw in. A huge improvement is required for this game.

Minor Football

The minors are still awaiting their next match following their game against Gaultier on the 2nd April & the no show of Ballinacourty on Easter Monday, when Ballinacourty were issued with 2 fixtures for the same day. We have no further fixtures at the time of submitting the notes, so keep an eye on local press for details.

U16 Football

The U 16 team had a comprehensive win (score not to hand) in their first championship match last Wednesday at home to St. Oliver’s. They play their second match next Saturday at home to An Gaelthacht with an 11:30 AM throw in.

County Minors

Michael & Jason Curry were the clubs representatives on the county minor football team that suffered a heavy defeat last Saturday night away to Clare, with Michael starting at wing forward. All in the club wish them the best of luck against Kerry this Tuesday in Fraher Field.

U8 & U10 Football blitzes

Both our these young teams were in action last Saturday morning with the U8’s travelling to Carriganore & playing St. Mary’s, Gaultier & St. Olivers, with the U10’s in action in our own field against Clonmel Commercials & Kilsheelan.

Good performance from all the young players shows how the weekly training sessions are paying off.

Scrap Metal Collection

Our scrap metal collection fundraiser in conjunction with Comeragh Rangers LFC is on the horizon with the weekend of Friday 27th April to Sunday 29th April being the dates to arrange for collection. Anyone who wants to arrange any scrap to be collected can contact Noel Kirwan 087-2271759, Brendan Curry 087-6141431, Declan Hahessy 087-2264550, or Denis Curry 087-6466113 or any member of the Comeragh Rangers committee.

Music Night

The club will hold a music night in Maudie Kennedys next Saturday 21st April, with music by Tom Comerford. Free admission with raffle & spot prizes on the night.
