Club Notes - 9th January 2012

posted Jan 8, 2012, 3:58 PM by Unknown user

We held our annual AGM last Saturday 7th January in the community centre in Rathgormack before a large number of our members. After an interesting & lively AGM, lasting approx. 2 hours, all officers & team managers positions were filled.

Our adult secretary of the last 2 years, David Vaughan, stepped down on the night & was replaced by Kieran Fogarty. Also, our juvenile secretary, who has served expertly in the roll for the last 7 years, Josephine Curry, stepped down on the night, with this job being taken up by Declan Power for the coming year. The club would like to sincerely thank David & Josephine for the work that they have put in over the last few years, & to wish Kieran & Declan the best of luck with their new jobs for 2012. Team managers at adult & U21 level will be the same as last year, with Ger Power manager of the senior team, Denis Curry with the juniors & Mervyn Cummins with the U21’s. Brendan Curry takes over the minor football manager’s job from Tom Hassett. The club wishes them all the best for the coming season. Full details of all the juvenile managers & mentors, & committee members will be posted on the club’s website in the coming days.

It was agreed at the AGM to keep the level of membership for 2012 at the same level as last year, i.e. Adult players - €60, Adult non-players - €30, U21’s - €30, Juveniles including minors - €10. Club registrar Ger Kirwan will be collecting this in the coming weeks.

On county duty

One of our best young footballers, Gavin Nugent, made his debut for the Waterford senior footballers as a substitute in last weeks McGarth Cup match against Tralee IT, which the Kerry outfit won on a score-line of 2-14 to 0-14. All in the club wish Gavin all the best for the season ahead with the county squad in his first year out of minor.
