U16 Football

Last weekends Eastern championship match against Gaultier did not go ahead.  The Div. 2 county semi-final has been fixed for the 10th November, but at the time of submitting the notes the opposition & venue, etc. are not known.

Race Night

The clubs annual race night goes ahead on Saturday 23rd November, at 9 PM, in Maudies Kennedy’s Bar. This is one of the clubs main fundraising events of the year & we call on all members & people in the community to give as much support as possible for this venture. While the amount of money raised by this event has held up well in recent years, it has been noted that the support on the night itself has dropped away somewhat. Therefore we would ask all our members to make a special effort to keep this date free & make sure that they come along on the night itself to make sure it is a busy one for Maudie, who is of course one of the club best supporters down through the years.

The clubs AGM has been pencilled in for Saturday 14th December at 7:30 PM in the Hiking Centre.

Bag Packing

Rathgormack GAA clubs annual Christmas bag packing fundraiser at Dunnes in Clonmel has been organised from Friday 20th to Tuesday 24th December. This is always a very successful event but requires a lot of manpower at this busy time of year. The committee will be seeking names of people to help out in the coming weeks, & we would ask as many as possible to give the 3 or 4 hours required to spread the workload to as many people as possible.

Clonea-Rathgormack All Weather Pitch

A public meeting was held in Rathgormack Hiking Centre in early October with the intention of assessing the interest locally in considering the possibility of developing an All Weather Pitch or Multi Use Games Area in the parish at a possible site adjacent to Rathgormack Hiking Centre. It was decided to form a sub-committee of the Hiking Centre committee to come up with a proposal, approach state agencies that may be in a position to part fund such a development & to commence a fund raising drive locally. At a subsequent meeting a committee was formally elected who will investigate in detail this proposed development The committee is as follows: Tony Bolger (chairperson), Kenny Hassett (vice chairperson), Johnny Brunnock (secretary), Tom O'Connell (asst. secretary), Vinny Murray and Nora Bray (treasurers), Bridget Ann Power and Ryan Roche (PRO) and Shane Gough (social media coordinator).

The committee would like to call on people in the community who may wish to get involved to contact any of the above named committee members. The first fundraiser in aid of the development will be Christmas Bazaar in Rathgormack Hiking Centre on Sunday 8th December from 2 to 5 p.m. Please keep this date free in you diary. Rathgormack GAA Club is fully in support of this venture & we would call on all our members to support any fundraising events etc. in order to make this facility a reality.
