Senior Football
We suffered a heavy defeat away to Ballinacourty in the
league last Tuesday 26th June. With both teams missing a number of
regulars, Ballinacourty’s strength & depth was evident as right from the
start they took control of the game, with a lot of their intermediate players
running the game. We were behind at half time 2-5 to 0-2, & things didn’t
get any better in the second half as we conceded a few soft goals to lose out
on a very disappointing score-line of Ballinacourty 6-8, Rathgormack 0-7. We
play our last league match against Dungarvan in two weeks time.
Comeragh Rangers
Congratulations to Comeragh Rangers Intermediate team who
won the Munster 7’s tournament recently defeating Listowel in the final. This
is a great achievement for the local club & augers well for the season
ahead.
All –Ireland for local girls
Congratulations to local triplet girls, Aoife, Emma &
Katie Murray, who were members of the Waterford U14 ladies football team that
defeated Cavan in the All-Ireland ‘B’ final last weekend. The girls are the
daughters of Joe & Audrey Murray, with Joe being the current vice-chairman
of our club, & former county senior final winning captain back in 1999.
