Race Night

We had a great crowd in attendance at Maudie Kennedy’s last Saturday night for our annual race night, which turned out to be a great success. The club would again like to thank all our sponsors & supporters who came out on the night or who generously gave money to ensure that one of our most important fundraisers of the year was a great success. A special thanks to Dick Drohan & Joe Murray who did most of the organising for the event & to Bridget Mitchel, Mary Drohan & John Crotty for taking the bets on the night. Richie Nugent once again did a great job on the microphone keeping the night moving along nicely, & the club would like to sincerely thank him not just for this year, but for doing this job every year for the last 12 years. The best dressed lady award went to Comeragh Rangers & Waterford footballer, Nora Dunphy, with very stiff competition from many other ladies on the night.

Rathgormack NS

Congratulations to the boys & girls schools teams who recently won their respective Eastern Cumann Na mBunscoil finals in the last few weeks. Both finals were played in Walsh Park on different days with the boys defeating Kill NS in the ‘C’ final & the girls defeating Dunhill NS in the ‘B’ final. Both teams will be playing their respective county finals in the coming weeks. Well done to all concerned. We also had a few players on the Crehana NS team who won the ‘D’ final.

John Cullinane

Congratulations to our U16 footballer, John Cullinane, who received an award for his man of the match performance in the county U 16 division 2 final played during the year. John received his award at the Bord Na Nog awards night held in Ring last Saturday night. Congratulations to John on his marvellous achievement for a great player who has a bright future in the game.
