Intermediate Football

Our intermediate team lost to Gaultier at home in the league last Tuesday 21st May, on a score-line of 0-11 to 0-12. This was a repeat of last year’s keenly contested junior eastern final that Gaultier won, & this match was also very closely fought. The first half was very even, & we led at half time 0-6 to 0-5. Mid way through the second half we struck the front with a few unanswered points to led 10 points to 7. But it was Gaultier who finished the stronger, scoring 5 of the last 6 points as we lost out by a single point at the final whistle. The next competitive for our intermediates is a championship tie against Tramore on the weekend of the 16th June.

Senior Football

Our senior team had a good win away to Stradbally in the league last Saturday 25th May on a score-line of 0-13 to 0-6. Both teams were short a number of players, but we had a deserved win in a well-contested match.

Quite period

With both county senior teams in action in the coming week, the next few weeks will see no competitive action from any of our teams. Both our adult teams are in championship action on the weekend of the 16th June, & possibly once in July depending on the progress of the county teams & the U16 championship starts in August, so a lot of competitive matches still to be decided, even if there will be little action in the height of summer, if it ever arrives.
