Club Website

We have revamped & re-launched our club website in the last few weeks, & it can now be accessed on Rathgormack.gaa.ie. If you enter Rathgormack GAA in Google search you will be directed to the old website which is no longer supported, but click on the link on the homepage & you will access the new website. The content & layout of the website is still at the early stages but from this week on the club notes will be uploaded every Sunday night/Monday morning, which means people can now read the notes on line if they wish. We also have club fixtures & results on the site, & it is hoped to add more info in the coming weeks, for example team photos, upcoming events, video clips of previous matches etc. The man behind the site is our own John Crotty, who put a lot of time & effort into setting it up & exploring the sites possibilities. The club would like to sincerely thank John for his time & effort & hopefully the site will become a useful resource for all club members, team managers & club officials in the coming years. Also it can be useful for those who have emigrated either in recent times or in the past, to allow them to keep in touch with the weekly goings on in our club.

U14 Football

We started our championship campaign at home to Gaultier last Saturday, where we were unfortunately beaten by 7 points, 4-10 to 3-6. This was a reasonable performance from our lads in their first outing, as they had a lot of possession, particularly in the second half, & they might feel that they should have been a lot closer at the finish, but Gaultier made the better of the chances that came their way.

Their second match is away to Tramore next Saturday 26th February at 4:30 PM.

Minor Football

Our minors play their 3rd championship match at home to Ballinacourty next Sunday 27th Feb. at 11:30 AM in Rathgormack

U21 Football

For the second week running, last Friday’s U21 championship Eastern ‘A’ semi-final against Gaultier, was postponed as a number of the Gaultier players were in county action with Waterford senior hurlers on Sunday. As it turned out the weather was extremely poor & the match may have been called off anyway. The match now goes ahead next Friday 25th February, 8PM at Carrickbeg, weather permitting of course.

Membership

Membership for both players & non-playing members is now due & it can be paid to our club registrar, Ger Kirwan, or to any team manager.

Membership for the coming year is as follows: Juveniles up to & including minors - €10, U21 - €30, adult players - €60, non-playing members - €30.

Juvenile Football

Juvenile football indoor training sessions will continue for the next month on Monday nights in the community centre. U6’s from 6:15 to 7 PM, & U8’s from 7 to 7:45 PM. U 10/11’s have changed to Thursday nights from 7 to 8 PM. Anyone who is interested in coming along in the coming weeks is more than welcome.

This years tickets are back in circulation & we would appeal to all our regular supporters to again purchase a ticket as this is our most important fundraiser of he year.
