Minor Football

Once again, our minors initial championship match failed to go ahead last Sunday morning, when they were due to play Gaultier at home, but were informed the day before that the opposition could not fulfil the fixture due to a large number of players being unavailable. Whether this means a walkover was conceded or the match will be refixed, I don’t know, but we await the start of our first championship match. The next scheduled fixture is away to De La Salle on Sunday 1st April at 11:30 A.M.

Deise Draw

Last chance to secure your tickets before the first draw on the last Friday in March. Tickets have been distributed to all club members to buy or sell, so please get as many back as possible in the next week, to any committee member, or club coordinator, Tom Hassett.

Membership

Any club member who has not yet paid their membership fee for the coming year must ensure it is paid to the clubs membership officer, Ger Kirwan, before the end of March. Membership for the year is €10 for juveniles, €30 for non-playing adults & U21’s, & €60 for playing adults.

U10’s

Our U10’s had a half time match against Kilrosanty last Sunday, during the Waterford versus Fermanagh national football league match in Fraher Field, & not in Walsh Park as stated in last weeks notes. All the players enjoyed the experience & it is an initiative created by the CGD officers that should be commended as it creates great excitement amongst the young players & supports the work that the clubs are doing in a meaningful way & encourages those who are promoting the development of football in the county. Unfortunately the Waterford team lost out to a late flurry of Fermanagh points losing 0-15 to 0-12, having missed 4 or 5 gilt-edged goal chances in the first half, which would have secured a great win.

Club Gear

A new order for club gear will be placed in the next few weeks with O’Neills. Anyone who is interested in placing an order can contact Vinny Murray, 087-9969403. Details of what is available can be viewed on the club website, rathgormack.gaa.ie
