U14 Football

Our U14’s secured their first win of the championship last Sunday against De La Salle in a match that was played in Clonea. Following a very spirited performance in cold & wet conditions, they improved hugely on their previous weeks outing to run out winners on a score line of 4-5 to 3-3.  They play again next Saturday 16th March, at home to Tramore with a 4:30 PM throw-in.

Minor Football

Last Sunday’s minor championship match against The Nire was called off as our pitch was unplayable due to the adverse weather. Their next match is away to Roanmore on Saturday 23rd March.

Intermediate Football

Our intermediates played John Mitchell’s last Sunday morning 10th March in Fews in the intermediate football eastern league. Played in bitterly cold & wet conditions, it was a bad day at the office for our boys, & when playing with the wind & the hill in the first half, we dominated possession early on but kicked a number of early wides to hand the initiative to the opposition, & they dually obliged leading at the break 1-4 to 0-1, with their goal coming from a soft penalty just before the break. When the Mitchell’s kicked 4 points in a three minute spell midway through the second half the game was over as a contest, & they ran out winners on a score line of Rathgormack 0-2, John Mitchell’s 1-10. Team: Donal Larkin, John Crotty, Michael Sexton, Liam Walsh (Mothel), Liam Walsh (Bally), Tony Power, Johnny Quinlan, Seanie Lacey, Jason Curry, Steven Power, Daniel Drohan, Steven Kirwan, Muiris Quinlan, John Kirwan (Cool) (0-2), Mikey Halpin. Subs: Paudie Whelan for Muiris Quinlan, John Kirwan (Bally) for Mikey Halpin, Jonathon Flynn for John Kirwan (Bally). Their next match in the league is away to Tramore next week, bank holiday Monday, 18th March with an 11:30 AM throw in.
