Senior Championship Draw

The draw for this years Senior Football Championship took place last Monday night. There are two groups and our group will contain the following Rathgormack, Ballinacourty, Kilrossanty, Ardmore, Clashmore & An Rinn. It is a particularly tough group with a lot of teams who have figured prominently in the latter end of the Championship in the last few years. The first game will be against current county champions Ballinacourty which interestingly is the third year in row that we face the same opposition in the opening game. This match is fixed for the 12th / 13th of April. Time and venue TBC.

Junior Football

Following a proposal by the Gaultier at last weeks County Board meeting the Senior Attached will now be run on an all-county basis and our second team will compete in this Championship in the coming year. We were due to compete in the Intermediate grade again as we did last year, however although we were competitive in the intermediate grade in the early rounds of the championship last year, towards the latter end we found it hard to compete against what were essentially other clubs first teams. This was a result of losing players to injuries and players being called up for senior action and players making themselves unavailable. The junior championship will prove to be very competitive and with the right type of commitment it is a championship in which we can go far. The structure is there will be two groups with the top two teams from each group going through to the semi finals. The teams that we will face are: Kilrossanty Stradbally, Gaultier, Ardmore, St. Saviours, De Le Salle & An Rinn Ballinameela. Dates and fixtures are to be announced. We will also compete in the Intermediate league.
